Garden Club presents tour
Spring is finally here, and the Garden Club of Jackson is eagerly awaiting its 11th biennial Spring Garden Tour. Five gardens and three homes in the Eastover and Massena Heights neighborhoods will be on tour Thursday, April 23, and Friday, April 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine.
The five gardens feature a variety of gardening interpretations using multiple perennials, annuals, vines, bulbs, shrubbery, trees, and roses. Each garden is captivating and beautiful, from the most formal garden, to a luscious English garden, and a delightful cottage garden. Three of the homes adjacent to the gardens will also be on tour.
Proceeds will benefit Greenwood Cemetery in downtown Jackson. The nearly 200-year-old cemetery is the burial place of famed writer Eudora Welty, many Jackson mayors, Mississippi governors, and soldiers who fought in the Civil War and both World Wars.
