EmbRACE Multiethnic Church Conference

 

Are you a homogeneous church desiring to look more like your surrounding neighborhood? Mark your calendar, register today and plan to attend the Third Annual EmbRACE Multiethnic Church Conference June 7-8 at Pinelake Church’s Reservoir campus.

 

The mission of EmbRACE is to promote unity and diversity in the local church through the city across lines of race, class and culture; advancing the common good and building a credible witness of God’s love for all people in an increasingly diverse and critical society.

 

“I’ve been a part of the Embrace Conference for the last few years, and I love the heart behind what they’re doing. They’re bringing together believers from all races and ethnicities and removing barriers. They’re showing us what it looks like to love each other and to truly embrace the full body of Christ,” said Dr. Chip Henderson, senior pastor of Pinelake.

 

The EmbRACE Conference began as a vision in the minds of pastor Matt McGue, former pastor of ONE Church, and pastor Donavon Thigpen, present lead pastor of ONE Church.

 

Through the work of an amazing team, the first conference was held in 2017 at Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson.

 

The planning team — led by pastor Donavon Thigpen, pastor Van Hardin and pastor Rocky Shack — are excited to have Dr. Tony Evans, president of the Urban Alternative and pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Church, as the keynote speaker for the Night of Unity and Conference.

 

Other nationally and locally known speakers will lead workshops to offer strategic insights for churches desiring to become more multiethnic.
