The 32nd Annual WellsFest family friendly, all-day-long fun event takes place on September 26 at Jamie Fowler Boyll Park on Lakeland Drive. The day begins at 8 a.m. with a 5K Run/Walk, but the festivities have so multiplied over the years that all the fun can no longer be packed into that one all day event with the children’s activities, live music, arts and crafts vendors, pet parade, food and more food, live auction of goods and services, and just a huge amount of more good things than you can ever imagine for free admission and free parking!

Wells United Methodist donates all the proceeds from WellsFest each year—not to themselves—but to a well vetted and deserving local charity. This year the proceeds will benefit Harbor House, a comprehensive drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility that ministers to the entire family and one who never turns someone away because of their inability to pay.

A new activity WellsFest will be introducing this year is a golf tournament—a four-man scramble, at Live Oaks Golf Club, to be held on September 17. For details, contact John Brashier at 601.252.0658.

WellsFest Art Night has become one of the most anticipated parts of WellsFest bringing art lovers together and providing a great opportunity to give to a great cause, as well as bring home a “to-die-for” piece of art for yourself! WellsFest Art Night will be held at Duling Hall in Fondren on Tuesday, September 22. This event is free and includes refreshments by local restaurants Babalu and Table 100 and live music by Andrew Pates. The preview party begins at 5:30 p.m., and the live art auction at 7 p.m. A special feature is Mississippi watercolorist Wyatt Waters painting a still life on site that will be sold at the end of the auction. A “buy-now” section also will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m.

By all means check out the Wellschurch.org website and find details on the plethora of opportunities connected with WellsFest! See you there!
