Coming to a theatre near you in late August, this is another stellar story from the Kendrick brothers and Tristar Films—you know who they are. The Kendrick brothers gave us Fireproof, Facing the Giants, and Courageous, films that have inspired viewers around the world and have proved there is a vast and hungry market for solid, wholesome, and redemptive themes in the movie industry. War Room is my favorite by far.
Starring Priscilla Shirer and T.C. Stallings as a young professional couple who seem to have it all. The story line is all too real as they present the flawless picture of success to the on-looking world, all the while allowing their marriage to crumble under the weight of so much pretense and pressure.
While tension is high on the home front and T.C. as Tony Jordan is thinking seriously about starting an affair with a coworker, Priscilla, as Elizabeth Jordan, discovers that real prayer is her greatest weapon in the battle to save her marriage. God, as only God can, brings an older woman into Elizabeth’s life, someone who has walked the same path and who becomes the mentor Elizabeth needs to walk with her through this trial.
There is nothing sugarcoated or phony in the story, the actors, or the technical quality of the production. From beginning to end, you will be engaged. This is a movie with heart. I would give it five stars in a heartbeat!
