‘Unbroken: Path to Redemption’

“Unbroken: Path to Redemption” is based on the true story of Olympian and World War II hero Louis Zamperini. Louis returns home and is embraced by his loving family. However, the emptiness behind his eyes does not go unnoticed by his brother. Louis is determined to convince him that he is okay, when in fact he isn’t.

Despite his best efforts, Louis continues on a downward spiral for years after his return. As he desperately tries to fill the void in his life caused by a lack of a relationship with God, his striving is to no avail, and his need to soothe the pain of looming demons puts everyone and everything he loves at risk.

“Unbroken: Path to Redemption” is a testament to God’s unfailing love for us and His hand in our lives. It is also proof that God will use those around us to gently and lovingly bring us to Him. He never leaves us, and like Louis, He orchestrates moments that bring us back into relationship with Him.

“Don’t discount God’s role in your journey.” As I reflected on this statement made by Louis’s pastor during his homecoming celebration, I was reminded that God’s unchanging hand in my life has been ever present. There have been times when I wanted to give up, but God — in his infinite love for me — wouldn’t let me go.
