Activities and Service to Others
I am and have been involved with the Christian Home Educators of Brandon homeschool group since I was in the seventh grade. I have participated each of those years in the CHEB Drama group. We prepare throughout the entire school year for a play we perform in the spring. I have been fortunate enough to have lead roles in each one of these. I am currently on the Restoration Church’s worship team that leads the corporate worship service every Sunday morning. I have taught Children’s Church, been a part of countless outreach activities in our local community, and led small group weekly Bible study meetings. I also have a part tine job at Polk’s Drugs in Richland. I come in contact with countless people every day and strive to show them the love and joy of Jesus, build relationships with them, and connect them to the local body of Christ.
Favorite Scripture
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens—a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). I often want to control my destiny, in fear that no other person could do it as well as I can. My flesh wants to plan out every step of my life and control my own path. In Ecclesiastes 3, the text proclaims that God controls the earth and all those who dwell on it, that there is a time for everything that God has me in mind. He will not forget me, He will not let me down, and His plan is one of power and blessings. If I seek God and chase Him passionately and keep my eyes upon Him, He has my back. God is in control.
Future Plans
I believe God is calling me to be a pastor. I believe He has given me the gifts of speaking and leading. I have a long way to go. I have much humbling to do, and my heart will need to be continually softened by the love of Jesus. I think God is pulling me to join my fellow brothers and sisters in leading a revival and radical change in my community. I believe God wants to turn Rankin County into a haven, a city on a hill, and He wants me to devote my life to that purpose.
