Recovery Is More Than a Dream

The Center for Hope and Healing, along with COPAC, Pine Grove Behavioral Health, and Musee Bath are delighted to host an evening of “Recovery: More Than a Dream.”

lgr_croflyer11x8The event will be held at The Venue at Broadmoor Baptist Church on October 27 from 6:30–9 p.m. There will be great food and entertainment along with door prizes and a silent auction.

The keynote speaker for the event will be Jeff Jackson from Nashville, Tennessee. Jeff brings a variety of backgrounds to the table. Originally growing up on a working ranch in Texas, serving the public in law enforcement, and being involved in Christian ministry, he moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music. After working in the music business as a staff writer/artist for a publishing company on Music Row, Jeff has worked in the treatment world full time for the last nine years in the areas of the equestrian program, music therapy, and spiritual questioning from a Christian worldview.

He believes everyone has a story to tell and what better way to tell it than in the creative process of songwriting. His passion lies in the interface of psychology, philosophy, and theology, and how these arenas help us to understand what it fully means to be human from a Christian worldview.

Also featured will be Caroline Smith, MA, LPC, CSAT-S, CMAT, CIP & EMDR Level 2 and Bill Rap, MRE, PSAP.

Caroline is the Director of Pine Grove’s Intensive Workshops and she works with Pine Grove’s Women’s Center, facilitating the Breaking Free workshop, which is offered to qualifying Women’s Center patients. Additionally, Smith frequently authored a chapter in the published book, Mending A Shattered Heart: A Guide for Partners of Sex Addicts.

Bill is the Co-Facilitator of Pine Grove’s Christian-focused Intensive Workshops. He specializes in the areas of Marriage Renewal and Personal Freedom, and combines the power of God’s Word with the practice of sound clinical tools in his work. His focus consists of five core issues addressed in all of the intensive workshops: Self-esteem, Boundaries, Truth, Needs, and Emotions.

lgr-1Proceeds from the event will support Crossroads Outreach Ministries. Crossroads Outreach Ministries is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization opened in 2009 as a place of refuge and restoration for women in need of help and guidance while rebuilding their lives.

These women are in a period of transition and often have no alternative source of help. Some are in need of a fresh start after a drug addiction or an abusive relationship. Every case is unique. The common denominator among all of our women is that they are in a time of transition and healing.
