Have you noticed how our society seems to love looking backward? We reboot old shows, revive old trends, and long for days that felt simpler and quieter … before everything we thought could be typed, posted, and instantly shared.

Over the past 20 years, the comment box has changed us. It gave us a place to speak — but what started as a place for connection gradually became a place for confrontation. Lines were drawn, and sides were chosen. And like so many others, I had plenty to say. Especially when it came to the topic of abortion.

Over a decade ago, someone close to me chose abortion. And it shattered me. Like … sobbing-on-the-floor kind of shattered me. I remember grieving not just the loss of the child’s life, but also the weight of knowing that she did not have to choose that. I hated that abortion stole her child’s life and would cruelly impact her own moving forward.

The more I understood abortion, the more convicted I became. So, I did what felt natural in the social media space — I posted. I shared my opinions. But as time passed, I had to grapple with the question: Was I actually doing anything?

Thoughts dropped into a comment box were not enough. Compassion, as I had learned, is no substitute for action.

In early 2020, I decided to finally reach out to the only organization I knew of that wasn’t just talking about the abortion crisis but was actively providing help and hope to abortion-minded women: CPC Metro. I had no real connections; I only knew CPC because my church had done a service project there years before. I had no experience to bring to the table, just a burden I couldn’t shake.

And, as it happened, they were preparing for their biggest fundraiser: Life Walk.

I had never heard of Life Walk, so I started small: filming videos in my car, sharing my story, and inviting others to give to CPC Metro so that women and their unborn babies could continue to be served.

God has opened many doors since then, and today, I have the privilege of serving at CPC full-time.

Looking back, Life Walk wasn’t just an event. It was my on-ramp to action. And as it happens, it’s Life Walk season again.

Maybe you’re feeling it today — a prompting that your pro-life stance must move beyond words. You don’t need a platform, experience, or even a perfect plan. As I’ve seen, God will fill in those blanks. You just need a heart that yearns to walk in obedience and use the gifts He has given you to serve Him well during one of the most defining issues in history. Maybe Life Walk is where you can take that first step, too.
