“The busyness of serving God can become a barrier to knowing Him personally…small acts of obedience and service have widespread effects.” (NIV Study notes on Matthew 26.)

I so understand these words. They hit me like a ton of bricks. My continual challenge is not to let the “busyness” and the “business” of Metro Christian Living distract me from sitting at the feet of Jesus as the first and foremost priority of every day.

Kitchen Tune-Up

Two things  that are so different today than when I began publishing are the multiple social media and the advent of 24/7 breaking news. I mentioned in my letter from the editor this month how overwhelming the noise of the world has become largely because of those two things.

This week in preparation for Easter,  I am scheduling that “Be Still and Know” time. I am in a definite season of learning something new from God. He is not on Facebook. And He doesn’t blog or have a talk show.

If I am truly interested in serving Him and allowing Him to work in me and through me…I’d best be doing life His way.

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13.
