How I Came to Know Christ

I came to know Christ at the age of 10. I have grown up going to church. When I was five years old, my parents got divorced. Throughout the few years that they were divorced, I began to see God play a big part in our lives. When the apartment my mom and I lived in burned to the ground and we lost everything, I saw God provide in an awesome way. Then, a few months later I watched him mend my parents’ marriage. Soon after, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I realized that Jesus died for me.

Activities and Service to Others

At school, I am currently the vice president of the Beta Club, the secretary of the National Honor Society, and a member of the council for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. As for church, I am actively involved in the youth group at First Baptist Church Jackson. I participate in the youth choir and help out in the nursery. Also, I am a part of our youth mentor/mentee program. It is such a blessing to be able to live life alongside someone a little younger than I am. As for the community, I am an active Youth Ambassador for the Mississippi Children’s Museum. Also, I am currently volunteering at the Mustard Seed.

Favorite Scripture

“Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days,” (Psalm 90:14). This beautiful verse has been one that I have adopted into my prayer life because I feel like it is so powerful. It reminds me that God’s love is the ONLY thing that will ever satisfy me completely. He is faithful and His love does not waiver when circumstances change. God is the ultimate provider of joy and for that I am very thankful. My hope is not to be put into anything in this world because it will soon fade, but my hope can put into the God who loves me through thick and thin. Glory be to the one who truly satisfies my soul with His unfailing love.
