Beau Ridge Is a Welcoming Community for Seniors

MCL: What makes Beau Ridge distinct among the many retirement communities in this area?

As the newest retirement community in Ridgeland, Beau Ridge provides seniors in the area with a brand new, gorgeously constructed retirement living option that is updated and outfitted with the very best in amenities, including personal entrances and private balconies, an on-site fitness center, beauty salon and spa, billiards room, a game room, a spacious courtyard complete with lawn games, a full library, complimentary housekeeping and laundry service, scheduled transportation, and gourmet meals cooked by our regionally renowned Executive Chef Christopher.

BR2 Additionally, Beau Ridge consists of two top-of-the-line freestanding communities built separately and specifically to meet the needs of two unique audiences: one houses active, independent seniors that are looking for the convenience and social benefits of being part of a community, while the other provides the highest quality of care to residents living with Alzheimer’s/dementia. This unique setup provides an attractive option for seniors who have a spouse with Alzheimer’s/dementia that they need help caring for but still want to remain close by and see as often as possible. This is an issue that many senior couples are facing, and it is more common than most people realize; the rate of Alzheimer’s/dementia diagnosis continues to rapidly climb, and research suggests that 1/4 of the population in Mississippi will have Alzheimer’s/dementia within the next 10 years. With these couples in mind, Beau Ridge strives to be their perfect solution as the leading provider for all stages of retirement living.

MCL: Do you have a mission statement?

Yes, as a Schonberg & Associates community, Beau Ridge is committed to ensuring that every resident we are privileged to serve is treated with respect and compassion, embraced by a spirit of community that reveres and encourages the unique dignity of each individual. As our owner and operator David Schonberg puts it, “Several times each day, we answer the question, ‘Is this in the best interest of each of our residents?’ If the answer is yes, we can’t go wrong. This simple operating philosophy is the secret to our continued success.

BR1MCL: I notice you have both independent living and memory-care assisted living. What services does the memory-care plan provide?

Beau Ridge is set apart by our commitment to providing the highest quality of personalized, expert memory care. The cornerstone of our program is our ability to offer unsurpassed, person-centered care that is based on the unique needs and preferences of each resident to help them thrive and live up to their highest potential. Each of our staff members is specially trained in the nationally renowned Warchol Best-Abilities Care model of Alzheimer’s/dementia care, and a full-time Memory Care Director is in place to ensure that all team members are providing our unique brand of consistent, exceptional care at all times. Our incredibly personal approach to care has resulted in life-changing success stories for our residents; a former music teacher who hadn’t played the piano for years found her voice again at Beau Ridge and now provides her fellow residents with daily musical entertainment, while another resident that would only sleep in her recliner prior to coming to Beau Ridge now feels comfortable enough to snooze peacefully in her bed each night.

Additionally, nurses and care partners are on duty 24 hours a day to assist our residents day and night, and physical, occupational, and speech rehabilitation therapy is available onsite.

BR3MCL: What activities or special stimulation do you provide to help keep your residents active and involved?

Beau Ridge employs a full-time Activities Director to ensure that every day is a new adventure at our community! At Beau Ridge, there is always something to do and somewhere to go—our “revolutionized” approach to retirement living offers a unique, world-class experience that provides every opportunity for activity and engagement, from constant onsite entertainment that includes exercise classes, cooking demonstrations, clubs, games, social events, and performances to regular scheduled outings, excursions, and even group travel opportunities!

MCL: Are there a variety of floorplans to choose from?

Yes, our Memory Care community offers three different options, and our Independent Living community offers seven different floorplans to choose from.
